The Gym It Studio has two separate rooms - each with a specific focus. The use of the two rooms enables classes/sessions to operate at times that work best with most peoples schedules.
The larger of the two rooms is the Group Fitness Room. This room caters for all Group Fitness classes includes Stretch & Mobility, Kids Group Fitness Classes & Coreball.
The Group Fitness room also has an area sectioned off for the Kids Welcome Group Fitness classes where kids can play safely while the parents train.
In addition to these two rooms the front of the studio is also fully enclosed and provides an additional safe and fun place for kids to play while parents train.
At the rear of the studio there is an extra room equipped specifically for Obstacle Course Racing. Tyre walls, ropes, roman rings, transverse climbs and monkey bars.
Everything a budding obstacle racer needs to success at their races.
Box Jumps are used in cardio classes to challenge members. It is not compulsory to box jump, some members prefer to step up or some use a smaller box. Box jumps are great for improving your explosive power, stability and improving your cardio fitness. Plus there is a great sense of satisfaction when you achieve a box jump
In a cardio setting there isn’t much you can’t do with a Wall Ball. Providing a great opportunity to work the core, improve endurance and coordination along with improvements in strength and power. Wall balls are a simple piece of equipment that have are very effective and getting the job done.
Affectionately known in the studio as Brutis. The Sled is a powerful piece of equipment. Not only does it give you a strong full body workout but it will increase your power, strength and endurance.
The Leg Press is a fantastic piece of equipment used in the Body Shaper Program and Personal Training Sessions. Leg press is used in a number of different way to increase the strength, shape and definition of the entire leg. With the added advantage of converting to a hack squat this piece of equipment is a great addition to any leg workout.
The Glute Ham Raise is an impressive looking piece in the studio. Using the GHR allows us to focus on the Posterior Chain – mainly the Glutes and Hamstrings – without placing a lot of weight on these areas. The Glute Ham raise can also be used to improve and increase lower back strength again without placing a lot of weight on the muscles.
Battle Ropes create a great functional full body workout. Not only do they challenge the strength and power of the arms but they also raise the heart rate and get you breathing pretty heavy. Used in a cardio workout they provide variety and excitement.
Functional training is a big focus at Gym it, so we use what are known as free weights quite a lot. These Racks allow us to complete full body workouts in the Body Shaper Program and Personal Training Sessions. Using free weights requires your core to activate more and for you to focus on moving the weights unassisted. With these racks we can perform a leg workout of squats and lunges, we can focus on upper body work like bench pressing and chin ups. There really is no limit to what can be done. Along with improving a back workout, we can also use this piece of equipment to work on the triceps and shape and tone the arms.
A strong back is an attractive thing on both males and females and that is exactly what Lat Pulldown machine is used for in the Body Shaper Program & Personal Training Sessions. Building the strength and shape across the back can create a more hourglass figure for women and a stronger physical appearance for men. This machine can focus on upper and lower back development.
Along with improving a back workout, we can also use this piece of equipment to work on the triceps and shape and tone the arms.
hamstring curl/leg extensions
A dual piece of equipment; the Hamstring Curl / Leg Extension is yet another way to get the legs working and is used in the Body Shaper & Personal Training Sessions. Allowing us to focus specifically on the hamstrings and the quads, we can create shapely and strong legs.
