After

I first started dealings with Jamie back in 2014, when I did a 12 week body transformation and had awesome results, however, my mindset was not in it and soon enough the weight crept back on.
In 2015 I fell pregnant and to be honest, my mind frame was like "oh well, I'm gonna get fat anyway, I'm going to eat what I want" little did I know what a detriment that would be and cause me to gain over 20kg in pregnancy.
Fast forward to the end of 2016, here I am, a new mum to my beautiful boy (born April 2016). I was consciously thinking I needed to do something but didn't get the ball rolling.
In January 2017 we went on a family holiday to Victoria & came home via the Great Ocean Road, I loved having pictures with my little family but knew I was "bigger than I used to be" so was self conscious of this.
It was once we returned home & I saved the photos to my computer that I realised I needed to do something more, this was my turning point so I contacted Jamie & started in Group Fitness classes.
At my first class I felt ashamed, I felt disappointed and like people would judge me because of "what I used to be like" and scared they would compare this. I get there, workout & realise this was all in my head and was pleasantly surprised by all of the support. I thought since I'm giving group fitness a go why not get out my previous nutrition guide and start reading it. This made a huge difference and by recording my food I was able to be accountable to myself and see why results hadn't worked in the past. I then had a thought that I needed to get back into resistance training (weights) & had looked into other gym memberships, when Jamie approached me and asked if I'd like to train with her, I took on the opportunity guns blazing. This is when combining group fitness, resistance training & nutrient timing gained results and I was steadily losing weight and centimetres for 8-10 months.
In September 2018, I also incorporated less intense activities into my training program, this is where my results fast-racked, my goal was to be under 90kg for the photoshoot (in October 2018) and by the middle of October I smashed this goal, weighing in at 84kg.
So far (7th November 2018) I've had a total loss of 30kg since having my baby. It wasn't easy, it still isn't easy.
The weight & centimetres were lost in about 18 months & came off because I addressed old habits, changed my mindset and retaught myself how to fuel my body with nutritious food at the right time (I still ate chocolate and drank wine).
Jamie has been a godsend through my whole journey, she doesn't just want you to lose weight & get fit, she wants you to gain a holistic approach to health and wellbeing so that not only is your physical appearance affected positively but also your mental health too.
She's a firm believer in practicing what you preach & she works extremely hard to do this (I've seen it first hand).
So if you are thinking of taking control of your health & well being I'd highly recommend talking about your goals with Jamie! You won't regret it!

Jo Dix Gim It - After
Even in my young life I was never an athletic person and as the years have ticked by, I found myself becoming increasingly less active in my lifestyle. Over time, my job became less physical and then I also had to start commuting to the other side of Adelaide to get to and from work. I felt that I didn’t have the time or energy to be able to get my body moving in order to counteract the many hours spent sitting at my desk and in the car travelling. I was living the ultimate sedentary life and along with that came all the typical side effects: weight gain, fatigue, lack of fitness and lower self esteem. However, I can be a determined character (when I put my mind to it) and there came a time when I knew that I needed to give myself a kick in the behind and do something about increasing my physical activity. After all, nobody else could do that for me. I had to put my big girl pants on, take ownership of that and I deserved better than what I was doing to myself! Enter Jamie and Gym It into my lifestyle. I am a creature of habit so what works best for me is to add to my daily routine bit by bit. I have to maintain consistently otherwise I will start to give myself excuses to drop things from my routine. Even if I feel tired and don’t feel like I have the energy for training, I turn up to the session anyway. I figure that even if I don’t perform as well as I would like, doing something is better than doing nothing. I always leave feeling like I have worked hard but I am invigorated and very happy that I made the decision to be more active. I began attending the evening cardio and boxing classes and found a great, friendly and supportive group of people with a wide range of different ability levels all being encouraged and challenged to work towards self improvement in their individual fitness journeys. After a few months of cardio (3 nights a week), it was time to add to my fitness routine and I knew that resistance training is an important addition for strengthening and changing body shape. I spoke with Jamie and then got to say hello to the Body Shaper Program doing weight training as well. To compliment the training that I was doing, I did a round of Nutrition so that I could learn the best way to fuel my body to provide the energy that it requires. My fitness is a work in progress and not only do I feel myself getting stronger, I see the changes as well. At the end of a workout, I still leave feeling like I have worked hard but what I can achieve in a session now is very different. I have even completed a few obstacle courses which is something I never thought that I would do and (dare I say it) even enjoy in some warped way! So Jamie and Gym It are now well and truly a part of my daily routine and most evenings through the week I can be found with my Gym It Family. The new health and fitness habits that I have formed with Jamie’s help and encouragement have also rubbed off on my Daughter as well, but that is another story.....

Kylie Williams After Gym It
I started fearful, fat, fatigued and fed up. Didn't want to talk about how big I had become, didn't want to talk about my stroke, didn't want to talk about me!! I have done pretty much every fad diet you could think of. I had joined numerous gyms and always had the trainer call me a great before photo, or a challenge. A breaking point happened for me and I had to get serious.
I joined the Gym It family 3 years ago. Jamie has helped me through my tantrums, tears, tragedies and triumphs. These 3 years she has given me the tools to be able to lose 50 kilos and keep it off. Jamie has helped me deal with my anxiety about exercising and my negative thought processes. My journey has not been all rainbows and sunshine, but I'm still here and have been supported all the way through. I am still on this weight loss journey but I am secure in the knowledge that Jamie will have my back through all the ups and downs.
The community that Jamie and Sarah have established at the gym is supportive, friendly, fun and challenging. The support that is given is not only physical, but mental health is a priority. Not only am I at the gym but Bazz has joined and my kids are going to be part of it as well.

Having injuries, Jamie continually supports me by tailoring exercises to ensure I feel challenged within my capabilities

After

Entering the doors of Gym It 3 months after my daughter was born, I knew I was in the right place! I instantly felt the sense of fun and support Jamie and her clients portrayed.
I was excited to get back into shape! I initially began group fitness, loving (well it’s convenient) that I could bring my children and work out at my own pace without feeling any inadequacy.
Shortly after I commenced the online nutrition program whereby I changed my mindset from diet to lifestyle. I felt supported to change my habits and instantly saw results. By no means was it easy, but Jamie was there to listen and give feedback when I needed direction. I am now in my first round of body shaper and loving it. Jamie has tailored my program to suit my needs.
I feel she is 100% focused on supporting me to achieve my goals. Having injuries, Jamie continually supports me by tailoring exercises to ensure I feel challenged within my capabilities. In that time, I have lost 50cms from my body, feeling fit and strong. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Gym It!

I don’t care so much what the scales say because I’m the fittest and strongest I’ve ever been, I’m starting to learn to like clothes shopping. I actually enjoy playing with my kids, I’m even learning to enjoy the beach

After

2.5 years ago. I was depressed, over weight and totally unmotivated. I’d regained nearly every kilo I had lost in the past. I was drinking a lot and eating my emotions. I was so unfit, I didn’t want to play with the kids. Buying clothes was dreaded. I walked into the gym scared paranoid and desperate and so unfit. I walked into a place of no judgment and acceptance. With some of the most supporting people I’ve encountered. Fast forward to now. I have been training with Jamie at Gym it for two years and found out I needed brain surgery I had to modify exercise and stop for a few months. But now… I’m off all medications, I have addressed my habits in both exercise and nutrition, so I don’t eat my emotions. I don’t care so much what the scales say because I’m the fittest and strongest I’ve ever been, I’m starting to learn to like clothes shopping. I actually enjoy playing with my kids, I’m even learning to enjoy the beach.

I have been part of the Gym it Family for 2yrs now. I started the Body Shaper program when my kids were 5,2 & 4mths old. I was tired, weak and didn't like my postnatal body so I decided to make a change. Event though my goals has changed from getting stronger to getting fitter, I still feel like I'm striving for the same thing and that's to feel better within myself, and to love who I am. And I couldn't have done it without Jamie and the Gym It Family.

Wow what an exciting year it has been for me and family. I started the journey with Jamie’s Gym it after seeing the great result my wife had. I thought to myself I should get out there and do something about my fitness levels and weight. Since I was eating poorly and Kylie was following the MP- Plan it made sense to me to eat the same, no point in having to cook 3 different meals (kids are fussy). With this in mind, I asked kylie to talk to Jamie about me joining the online group of Gym it which I did. When the program started last year, I found it a bit confronting having photos taken and having measure over the body done. It really showed me I had to do something. I soon realised I was not eating the right amount of food and way too much processed food. In a few short months I was walking more and wanting too. I can feel the difference in clothes that I thought I would never get back into, fit better now (depending on what brand and make grrr). About Gym it the online program is great for people that do not have the time to go to the gym. It is a learning process this fitness, eating better and trying to unlearn things from the past that you thought was good for you. The scales do not matter the mirror is better. Jamie gives that 110% all the time (do not know how she does it) The program gives you guidance and Jamie is there to point you in right direction to achieve your goals and set challenges. The type of goals changes from when you start mine was weight loss not anymore running is one of mine now and doing things I would not of ever dream about like completing true grit and wanting to get a better time next year. The program is ever changing hard to get stuck in a rut. Great job Jamie
